The Lavender Farm is a cherished local attraction here in Maui. In the summer of 2012 they were in urgent need of support for their website and it was an honor to be able to step in and keep their operation running.

Since stepping in as their technical support I've been able to drastically cut their website expenses. With these savings they we able to allocate for a website redesign.

The goal of the new site was to capture the true beauty and Aloha of the lavender farm and the amazing people that work there.

This project was a challenge because AKL's website is run on an off-the-shelf shopping cart product. Working within and dealing with the limitations of the product's framework took a lot of creativity and imagination not to mention lots of hours of researching documentation.

It was so worth it.

I'm very happy with the new site and the AKL Maui team seems pretty pleased, too!

It's a pleasure to work with a business like AKL that understands what a good website can do for them. Moving forward the goal will be to increase traffic, sales, and awareness of the day to day happenings at the farm.

Using social media and other solid marketing tactics will pay off well and steadily grow their audience!

How I've helped

In Summer of 2011 AKL was spending more on their website than the site was earning and suddenly they were left with no webmaster to handle the day to day technical operations.

I was able to step in and keep their newsletters sending and website updated. Once the dust had settled I was able to work closely with the great team they have to streamline things and greatly reduce the costs of maintaining the site.

In Spring of 2012 things were going so well that a complete redesign of the site was approved.

The new design will display the beauty of the farm, attract visitors to the many great activities there, further connect the AKL staff with the community, and increase sales of their great products.
